SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
A construction worker is in critical condition
after an East Side house he was working on gave way and fell on him.
Rescue crews were called to the 500 block of Sterling Drive, near Interstate 10 and Martin Luther King Drive, just before 4 p.m.
Officials say a construction crew was working on the foundation of the home when it collapsed, trapping one of the workers.
"They had the house lifted by a jack. The jack gave way and dropped the house back about two feet. And unfortunately the house landed on top of him," explained San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson Christian Bove.
Emergency crews were able to free the worker. He was taken by EMS to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
