WILDWOOD, FLORIDA --

Two cars crashed into an overturned semi-truck early Thursday morning in Sumter County – with low visibility being cited as the cause.

Four patients were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to Sumter County Fire & EMS.

The crash occurred on State Road 44, about a mile east of Interstate 75 and across from Three Flags RV Park in Wildwood.

According to Fire Chief Leland Greek, firefighters and paramedics were called about 6:20 a.m. Thursday to an overturned semi-truck that had been stuck by two passenger vehicles. Greek said low visibility attributed to the crash.
