Michigan driver critically injured after dump truck tire explodes, causing him to lose control of the truck, hitting trees and landing in an embankment.
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was hospitalized with critical injuries after a front tire ruptured on his dump truck causing him to lose control.
Emergency crews responded to the crash around 4 p.m. Monday in the 6800 block of M-89 in Richland Township.
After the tire exploded, the dump truck left the road and hit several trees before landing in a large embankment.
The 63-year-old driver was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
