HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- A NY Waterway ferry named "The Brooklyn" hit Hoboken Pier late Monday afternoon.
It happened around 5:30 p.m.
Passengers boarded the ferry at World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan.
Passengers were evacuated for 20 minutes as the captain and director of operations reviewed damage and deemed ferry safe to continue on its next stop in Weehawken, New Jersey.
Several passengers were surprised the ferry was allowed to continue service.
They described ferry hitting pier "very hard" and "slamming" into it.
No injuries were reported.
