WATERLOO, IOWA – A construction worker was hospitalized after he fell through the roof of the former Hostess Wonder Bread bakery in downtown Waterloo on Monday.
The building at Third and Commercial streets is in the process of being converted into a Single Speed Brewing Co. location.
The name and condition of the worker weren’t available, but others on the scene said he was conscious and dazed from the fall and suffered an arm injury. Paramedics with Waterloo Fire Rescue transported him to UnityPoint/Allen Hospital for treatment.
The fall happened about 9:30 a.m. Monday when the worker, who was on the roof, fell through the roof and landed on the floor.
Details weren’t available, but work on the building included removing vents on the roof, workers said.
