DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO- Firefighters are battling a house fire that broke out after a barbecue explosion Sunday afternoon in Highlands Ranch.
The fire started in the 2100 block of Chesapeake Lane – a residential area northwest of East Highlands Ranch Parkway and Venneford Ranch Road.
The homeowner says he turned on the propane grill to heat it up, and then went back inside.
Moments later, he heard an explosion.
No one was injured, and the damage was largely confined to the back of the home.
