Welder struck by beam at White Marsh construction site killed, fire department says.

A welder at a White Marsh construction site died after he was struck by a metal beam Saturday afternoon, a Baltimore County Fire Department spokeswoman said.

The man, who was not publicly identified, was working at a construction site in the 5200 block of Campbell Blvd. just before 2 p.m., said spokeswoman Capt. Julia Dillard.

She said county police and Maryland Occupational Safety and Health officials were on scene investigating, but that no foul play is suspected.

The name of the company the victim worked for was not immediately available, Dillard said.

This is the second fatal industrial accident in the county this week. Colin Richard Kelley, a 19-year-old employee of Maryland Metals, was crushed to death Wednesday at Maryland Metals Processing Inc. in Sparrows Point.
