FORGET TERRORISM OR GUN VIOLENCE; AT LEAST 200 PEOPLE KILLED DURING THIS WEEKEND BY VEHICLES
The deadly US roads take the lives of at least 34,000 people per year or almost 100 people per day. Millions injured, billions in property damage. Thus, terrorism or gun violence pales in comparison to traffic deaths.

TOWN OF VIENNA, N.Y. -- The driver of a stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck was killed Sunday morning after he attempted to evade state troopers trying to stop him in the town of Vienna, state police said.
At 4:39 a.m. Sunday, troopers spotted the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck speeding in the northbound lane of Vienna Road, state police said in a news release. The troopers activated their emergency lights. The driver then braked briefly, then "rapidly accelerated away," the release said.
The troopers lost sight of the pickup truck when it went around a curve. Moments later, the troopers saw the pickup truck had gone off the west side of the road as it rounded the curve and struck a tree, state police said.
The crash occurred on Vienna Road, about a tenth of a mile north of Harbor View Road, troopers said.
The driver was partially thrown from the truck. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
State police have not yet released the driver's name because they are still trying to contact his family.
The investigation revealed the pickup truck had been stolen before the crash, but the vehicle had not yet been reported stolen, state police said in the news release.
State police investigators are still trying to piece together the events that led to the deadly crash.
