A car hit a gas line connected to a house Sunday night, causing it to explode and damage five homes.
It happened around 10 p.m. the 800 block of N. Pennsylvania Ave.
Five houses were evacuated due to a possible hazard from the leak.
The Lansing Fire Department says when they arrived on the scene, they noticed the damaged gas meter and got everyone out of the house it was connected to.
The line exploded shortly after, blowing off a wall of the house.
No one was injured. but two families were displaced by the explosion. Firefighters said they are staying with relatives.
No one was in the car when emergency crews arrived.
The most damaged house was demolished early Monday morning. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
