Joseph Storz Sr. was taken to Lancaster General Hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries after the collision, the commission reported.
The boat he was passenger in, the whaler, operated by his son, Joseph Storz Jr., 53, also of Lancaster, was drifting near the York County shore of the river at about 3:30 p.m. when a speedboat owned and operated by Alberto Santiago, 54, of Lancaster, struck it from the rear, according to the commission.
Santiago told the commission's officer that he was pulling a tuber when he came upon the whaler and crashed into the boat's stern.
