KILLDEER, N.D. --
A man was killed when the car he was driving hit an oil tanker truck west of Killdeer early Saturday morning.
The 26-year-old man from Killdeer, was driving east on highway 200 shortly after 4 a.m. when his car entered the westbound lane at the top of a hill and struck the truck carrying crude oil, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The man driving the car was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
The man driving the truck, 47, of Cook Station, Mo., was traveling from a well site to an off-load station near Fairfield, N.D. The unnammed man was not injured in the crash, according to the patrol.
The weather conditions were listed as dry and clear at the time of the crash.
