A train derailed in the Dublin area of Pulaski County on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
A Norfolk Southern official says the train derailment happened around 4 p.m. after two westbound trains collided.
At least five rail cars derailed from the first train after it was hit from behind by a second NS train. The first train had three locomotives and 54 rail cars. Five empty cars at the end of that train derailed.
The second train had two locomotives and 43 empty rail cars used as auto racks for carrying vehicles. Norfolk Southern says the locomotive on that train derailed and there is a diesel fuel spill.
Two crew members on the second train were taken to the hospital.
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, according to Norfolk Southern.
Three homes were evacuated as a precaution.

The public is asked to stay away from the area.
According to Pulaski County, it's a Norfolk Southern train that derailed.
The section of Route 747 (Old Route 11) in Pulaski County between its intersections with Route 11 and Route 1030 (Bagging Plant Road) are closed because of the train derailment. This section of Route 747 is located north of Dublin in the Hedge Lane area.
No estimated time for reopening Old Route 11 has been established, according to VDOT. Drivers will need to seek alternate routes around the closure.

Two westbound trains collided around 4 p.m. Tuesday, a Norfolk Southern officials said, which caused at least five cars to derail from the first train, according to WDBJ.
Norfolk Southern also said the locomotive on the second train derailed and there is a diesel fuel spill.
