ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -

Kentucky Emergency Management is reporting dozens of homes flooded along U.S. 60 east in Rowan County.

Reports of up to 60 and 70 homes flooded with some possibly suffering foundation damage around the 6900 block.

People who live in the area say Triplet Creek reach levels they've never seen before. Some homes were knocked off their foundations, while other homeowners are dealing with mud in their homes.

"The neighbors told me they saw the water come and the water just slammed it into the telephone pole over there. It destroyed the top of it," Wilma Stevens told WKYT.

Some cars were re-positioned by the waters, but others were carried away into the creek.

"I'm just glad that no one was hurt that I know of," Stevens said.

A temporary shelter has been opened at the Carl D. Perkins Center on Crayton Jackson Lane in Morehead for who needs assistance or a place to stay.
