State police say a contract worker has been injured in a fall on a bridge that carries the New York State Thruway's Berkshire Spur over the Hudson River.
Troopers with the Thruway detail say a 30-year-old man working for a painting contractor was injured around 11 a.m. Tuesday when he fell between 10 to 20 feet from the Castleton Bridge and landed on a platform under the span.
Police say both sides of the connector highway to Interstate 90 was closed for a brief time while crews tended to the injured worker and removed him from the scene. All lanes were reopened by 12:45 p.m.
The bridge connects Albany and Rensselaer counties about 10 miles south of the city of Albany.
