The SC Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on crash in
Pickens County that sent seven people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.
The crash was reported on Belle Shoals road near US 178 just
before 4 p.m.
Troopers said a 2003 Mitsubishi veered left of the center
line and hit an oncoming 1996 Ford.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a male from Easley, was
airlifted from the scene, troopers said.
The driver of the Ford, a male from Central, and five
passengers were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Troopers said the
passengers included a 33-year-old, a 16-year-old, a 13-year-old and a
one-year-old.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and
charges may be forthcoming.
