 February 3, 2015

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

A Texarkana construction worker is dead after a job related accident.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of Moores Lane near Cowhorn Creek Road in Texarkana, Texas.

Authorities say 61-year-old Jose Andrade of Texarkana, Arkansas, was a subcontractor for Texarkana Construction Company. Andrade was working on a new road in the area when he somehow became pinned between the backhoe and backhoe's boom arm and died.

According to Texarkana, Texas police, preliminary reports suggest that Andrade was standing behind the tractor when the backhoe swung around and struck him, killing him instantly.

Company officials on the scene say Andrade had worked for the company for 12 years.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
