SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Employees at the Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento are back at work after being evacuated over a strange substance that turned out to be dog poop.
The incident happened at around 10 a.m. Monday in the mail room of 9464 Butterfield Way when an employee noticed a strange odor coming from a package. Workers in the mail room were evacuated — about 100 workers in total — and responders from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department and Sacramento County geared up in hazmat suits to investigate the package.

The all-clear signal was given just before noon.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the origin of the package.

No one was injured in the incident.
