ONE KILLED IN
HEAD-ON CRASH ON STH 75 NEAR MCNAMARA ROAD IN RACINE COUNTY,
WISCONSIN. IT APPEARS THAT SPEED AND
ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.
January 27, 2015
RACINE (WITI) — The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is
investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Tuesday morning, January 27th.
The Racine County Communications Center was advised
of a two-vehicle accident on STH 75 and McNamara Road in the Town of Dover
around 5:30 a.m. The was an accident between a car and a pickup truck.
The caller then advised that the car contained a female
that was partially out of the vehicle and not breathing. A short time later,
dispatch advised that the pickup truck had started on fire, which was
extinguished by Kansasville and Union Grove Fire Departments.
Upon arrival, rescue workers began to perform CPR on the
operator of the car. She was later transported to the hospital, where she was
pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the car was
traveling southbound on STH 75 while the pickup truck was headed northbound on
STH 75. Officials say the car began to fish tail and crossed over the
center line — causing a head-on collision.
Both operators were wearing their seatbelts. It appears
that speed and road conditions were factors.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending
notification of relatives.
This is an ongoing investigation.
