SOUTH GATE, CALIFORNIA:
A gas leak from a refrigeration unit at a South Gate market sent two people to a hospital this afternoon, authorities said.
The leak was reported about 3:40 p.m. at El Super market in the 5700 block of East Firestone Boulevard, said Robert Diaz, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The business was evacuated and two people were taken to a hospital to be checked out, Diaz said.
A hazmat crew was sent to the market to monitor the cleanup, he said.
