January 26, 2015
Shreveport, Louisiana
A man is fighting for his life this morning and a
firefighter is recovering from minor injuries after a house fire late last
night.
Officials with the Shreveport Fire Department tell us
the fire started just before 10 pm Sunday in the 2800 block of Hardy Street. It
took firefighters nearly an hour to get the blaze under control.
An elderly man was rescued from the home through a
bedroom window. He was transported to Willis Knighton Health with life
threatening injuries. A firefighter also sustained minor injuries when the back
porch collapsed on the back of the house.
The Shreveport Fire Department wants to remind people
it's best to keep entryways free of obstacles.
