major Structure fire in downtown Dubois,
wYOMING
UPDATED at 11:10 p.m.
(Dubois, Wyo.) – A fire has ripped through at least two
stores in downtown Dubois this evening. Some of these photos were
sent to us from a reader who wished to remain anonymous at about 10:20 p.m. on
Tuesday.
Dubois Mayor Twila Blakeman informed County10 that the
first she heard of the fire was around 7 p.m. this evening.
“We’re probably losing one whole side of downtown,” she
said.
Blakeman said the fire appeared to have started
somewhere in the Mart, a group of small businesses. At least two buildings have
reportedly caught fire, and Blakeman said firefighters are trying their hardest
to keep it from spreading further. Kinnear, Crowheart and Riverton firefighters
have joined in the battle.
“It’s cold and hard for them to fight,” Blakeman said,
adding that the water seems to be turning to ice the second it hits the ground.
So far she has heard of no injuries to anyone. She asked
the public to stay back at let the firefighters do their job.
