NORTH BRUNSWICK - A Walmart employee suffered an apparent electrical shock while changing a light bulb in the store early Tuesday.

Police said the employee was changing the light bulb in the sporting goods section of Walmart, 979 Route 1, from the top of a 10-foot ladder around 1:40 a.m. Police said the employee apparently suffered an electrical shock from the fixture, causing him to fall 10 feet to the floor.

Police said the worker was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick by North Brunswick Emergency Medical Service and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics.

Additional information about the worker's condition was not available.
