CHAPEL HILL, NC (WTVD) -- A worker repairing a large crane in Chapel Hill Wednesday had to be rescued when he suffered a medical problem.
Around 3 p.m., a crane on a construction project at Franklin Street and Church Street was malfunctioning so a crane repairman went up to take a look.
While working about 200 feet above the top of the building under construction, the man suffered a medical problem.
Firefighters were called. A special team climbed the crane and lowered the man down in a special harness. He was then transferred to a basket and lowered the rest of the way to the ground.
He was then taken to the hospital.
