Driver believed killed in fiery interstate crash found alive at scene

Authorities have confirmed the driver in a fiery collision involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle survived the crash.
After an apparent miscommunication among troopers, the driver of a vehicle that crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler and caught on fire was found alive at the scene of the crash.
According to authorities, the driver was able to escape the burning vehicle.
The 18-wheeler and a pickup truck collided just before 6 a.m.on the westbound side of I-20 east of Highway 271.
