LONG BRANCH, N.J. (WABC) -- At least three people were killed by a fire that tore through a Long Branch home.
A family was apparently trapped inside the Joline Avenue house, which went up in flames at around midnight.
Rescuers attempted to enter the house but were pushed back. "Police tried to get in but the house was fully involved," Long Branch Public Safety Director Jason Roebuck said.
Three residents were pronounced dead, and a fourth is in critical condition at Monmouth Medical Center.
The four are believed to be a family of two adults and two children, members of the same family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Local streets were closed for the investigation
