Firefighters injured after propane tank explodes while crews work structure fire at at the Detweiler Saw Mill in Parke County, Indiana



PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – 

Firefighters sustained minor injuries after a propane tank exploded while they were working on a structure fire in Parke County.

The fire was reported at the Detweiler Saw Mill (84 Lumber) at 352 S County Road 300 EDanville, IN 46122, in Parke County near the Putnam County line.

While firefighters were working to put the fire out, a propane tank on the property exploded. A few firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene. The Parke County Sheriff’s Office reports the cause of the fire was accidental and they do not believe there was any criminal activity in regards to this fire.

Multiple agencies responded to this fire including Bellmore Fire Department, Rockville Fire Department, Bridgeton Fire Department, Marshall Fire Department, Lyford Fire Department, Bainbridge Fire Department and Parke County EMS.
