SHEBOYGAN, WI (WFRV) --
Sheboygan's North Pier is
closed until a boat is removed after it crashed into the break wall.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office says a fishing boat hit the pier at 19 knots, or 22 miles per hour, around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The boat beached itself onto the rocks next to the pier.
The driver, a 72-year-old Reedsville man and the boat's two passengers, a 58-year-old woman and a 63-year old man, both from Kiel, were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Police say alcohol was not a factor but the incident remains under investigation.
The Sheboygan County Water Safety Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, Sheboygan Fire, and Sheboygan Police responded to the scene.
