LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
An 86-year-old is dead following a crash in Summerlin Friday afternoon.
Las Vegas Metro police said the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Hillpointe Road.
A 2012 Toyota Camry was going eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard when it was hit by a 2004 westbound Toyota 4 Runner. The 4 Runner crossed the center line and hit the Camry in a head-on collision. Both drivers were taken to University Medical Center in serious condition.
The 86-year-old driver of the Camry was taken into surgery and later died.
This marked the 52nd traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction in 2015.
