2 MORE PAY THE PIPER: 2 KILLED IN HUNT COUNTY, TEXAS FIERY PIPER PA-24 COMANCHE PLANE CRASH

Texas Department of Public Safety confirms two people have been killed in a fiery plane crash northeast of Quinlan in Hunt County.

The single-engine plane went down in a field off County Road 3511 near the Rocking M Airport, shortly after taking off from the Quinlan airport.

According to the FAA, a single-engine Piper PA-24 crashed shortly after takeoff from the private airstrip near Quinlan. There were 2 people on board. The aircraft caught fire after it crashed.  The plane was built in 1959.

Video from Chopper 11 shows the crashed plane in a field near some trees.
Officials say the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.

Lonnie Haschel, from the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the plane crashed near an area known as Boles Home, about an hour northeast of Dallas.
The identities of the victims aren't yet known.

According to a Greenville Herald Banner report, a distress call was received before the crash at the L-3 Mission Integration/Majors Field Municipal Airport.

Narrative:
The aircraft impacted open field terrain in an apparent near vertical descent shortly after takeoff from Rockin M Airport (T14), Quinlan, Texas. The airplane was destroyed by the impact and post-impact fire. The two occupants onboard the aircraft received fatal injuries.
