The pilot, Charles Fair was killed and the passenger injured, his wife Vickie, when a single engine plane crashed near Winnet Road in Colbert, Oklahoma. Witnesses saw what they explained as a “boom.”.
Unnamed sources say the pilot was texting his son just prior to the crash. Several eyewitnesses saw the planes last few minutes as it was going down. No cause has been determined yet.
The plane is registered out of Ft. Worth. No local people were on the plane.The National Transportation Safety Board is due to arrive at the scene at 2pm Monday afternoon.
The site is under the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the plane crash is under investigation by the NTSB and FAA.

BRYAN COUNTY, Okla.--
A plane crashed in Colbert, Okla. on Sunday around 3 p.m. We have now learned the names of the people involved.
"Just heard this loud bang, turned around and saw just this big cloud of smoke," Charles Montgomery, who witnessed the crash, said.
That's when Montgomery said he called 9-1-1 after he saw 64-year-old Vicki and Charles Fehr's plane crash along Winnett road near Colbert around three Sunday afternoon.
"I rushed over to see what had happened and all I could see was the pilot," Montgomery said.
The plane flew right over Jose Oagan's house.
"I was so scared, I never saw anything like that before," Oagan said.
According to OHP the couple was traveling from Michigan to Fort Worth.
Vicki was taken by helicopter to the Medical Center of Pano in critical condition.Charles was pronounced dead on the scene.
The cause of the crash has not been released. Troopers, the Bryan County Sheriff's Office and Colbert agencies all responded.
"We're securing the scene, doing our investigation that we're required to by Oklahoma state law and we have notified the NTSB and the FAA and they will be having representatives sent to our location and we will go from there," Trooper Steve Nabros, said.
The NTSB is expected to start investigating the scene Monday afternoon.

The aircraft impacted trees and rural road terrain during an apparent force landing southeast of Colbert, Texas. The airplane sustained substantial damage and one of the two related occupants onboard was fatally injured. On occupant onboard the aircraft received serious injuries.
