SOMERS, NY
A motorist was injured after a school bus with three people
aboard crashed onto a car on icy Route 202 on Monday morning.
The bus was transporting the student from Heritage Hills to
a private school in White Plains when it toppled at Brick Hill Road, police
said. The bus ended up on the car's hood.
State police said the bus had a driver, driver's assistant
and one student on board when the crash occurred. No one on the bus was
injured, but the student was taken to a hospital to be checked out, state
police said.
The driver of the car was hurt, but the injuries were not
thought to be life-threatening.
The crash happened about 7:40 a.m. and Route 202 was closed
near the scene. The bus was from Allways East Transportation in Yonkers. The
company would not say what school the bus was headed to.
There was black ice on the road at the accident scene. Black
ice led to several accidents Monday morning, including a five-car collision on
the Saw Mill River Parkway in Mount Kisco.
