The occurrence
On 6 November 2014, a QNS&L freight train derailed at mile 14.6 of the Wacouna Subdivision near Tellier, Quebec.
The train was proceeding north when it collided with a rock slide from a rockfall that was obstructing the main track.
The 2 head-end locomotives and 9 empty cars went down the embankment, and the lead locomotive came to rest completely submerged in the Moisie River.
The TSB has opened an investigation into the accident.
The locomotive was recovered from the Moisie River on February 20, 2015
