COAL TRUCK, ANOTHER HAULING BEER, CRASH ON PENNSYLVANIA ROAD; BEER LEAKING ON THE ROAD, 1 PERSON INJURED
January 29, 2015
GREENSBURG, Pa. —
A coal truck and another hauling beer have collided in
western Pennsylvania, closing part of a rural highway.
State police in Greensburg didn't immediately release the
names of those involved in Thursday's crash on U.S. Route 22 near the junction
of state Route 819 in Salem Township.
Beer was leaking onto the road following the crash, which
closed the entire highway for a time.
The highway's eastbound lanes reopened before 7 a.m. but the
westbound lanes remained closed. Police hoped to open them later in the
morning.
Police at the scene say one person was hurt, but the
injuries were not considered life-threatening.
