1 ELDERLY WOMAN KILLED IN 2-ALARM FIRE AT MULTI-STORY HOME IN BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Thursday, Jan 29,
2015
An elderly Boston
woman pulled from her burning home by firefighters has died.
A spokesman for the
Boston Fire Department says firefighters arrived at the woman's Dorchester home
just after 6 a.m. Thursday to find smoke.
They found the woman
inside on the bottom floor of the two-story, single-family home and took her
out to be attended by emergency medical technicians.
She was taken to a
hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Her name and exact
age were not immediately made public. She lived in the home alone.
The cause of the
two-alarm blaze, which caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, remains under
investigation.
The department
spokesman says firefighters had to shovel out one hydrant still buried snow,
but that was not a factor in battling the blaze.
