CATTLE TRUCK OVERTURNS, CLOSES I-64 IN INDIANA. FREED COW(S) HIT BY SEMI TRUCK
CORYDON, Ind. (WISH) – Cattle roamed a major interstate near
Corydon, causing Indiana State Police to close down 13 miles of roadway.
Early Thursday morning, ISP were called to an accident
on I-64 at the 101-mile marker.
A cattle truck had overturned, and cattle were freed to
roam.
WLKY News, in Louisville, reported
Thursday morning that nine cows were walking freely around the accident
site when one of the cows was hit by a semi.
Indiana State Police said they shut down the interstate
between 92-mile marker and 105-mile marker for three hours to round up the
cattle. As of 7:45 a.m., I-64 was still closed.
The driver of the cattle truck was taken
to nearby University of Louisville Hospital. His condition was not
released.
It is unclear whether more than one cow was injured.
