Gas explosion rocks western Pennsylvania community

CENTER, Pa. (AP) —
Authorities say a gas explosion in western Pennsylvania has spurred evacuations, but no injuries have been reported.
Beaver County officials told news outlets a gas line caused the blast, which was reported shortly before 5 a.m. Monday in Center. Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom and an orange glow filling the sky.
Homes near the site were being evacuated as a precaution, and the Central Valley school district canceled all classes for Monday due to the blast.
At least one lane of Interstate 376 eastbound was also closed in the area as a precaution.
Several residents told reporters of heavy smoke emitting from the blaze making it hard to breath. One woman said the blast was so loud she thought a plane crashed.
There have been no reported injuries at this time.

Officials tell Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that crews are responding to a possible gas line explosion in Center Township, Beaver County.
The reports came in just before 5:00 A.M. to an area along Ivy Lane.
Viewers reported seeing flames lighting up the sky.
No word if anyone has been hurt, but officials said people are being evacuated from their homes.
