Georgia Ports worker dies after SUV plunges into Savannah River

A Georgia Ports longshoreman died Wednesday morning after his SUV plunged into the Savannah River, Savannah Fire said.
The incident was reported around 8:30 a.m. at the ocean terminal. Only one person was in the vehicle at the time.
Marine 1 and Savannah Fire responded to the scene.
The Georgia Ports Authority released a statement:
"At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, a member of Savannah's local International Longshoreman Association 1414 lost his life during a cargo operation at GPA's Ocean Terminal. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family, friends and entire membership of the ILA 1414."
