CENTERPORT, Long Island (WABC) -- A group attending a birthday party on Long Island said it turned chaotic when someone started ramming into several vehicles outside.
Danielle D'Aurio was at her 30th birthday party Monday night at Mill Pond Seafood Kitchen and Bar in Centerport when she heard crashing and screeching coming from the front of the restaurant.
Witnesses said a pick-up truck started hitting a row of Mercedes, BMWs and Audis on East Main Street in Centerport.
When the truck tried to leave, the driver crashed head-on into another parked car in the parking lot.
Two patrons from inside the restaurant tackled the driver and subdued him until police arrived and arrested him. Police have not identified the suspect or released information about charges.
Ten vehicles, including D'Aurio's, were severely damaged; bumpers and radiators were totally torn from the frames in some cases.
The incident appears to be random.
