MENDOTA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Highway Patrol is looking into a deadly crash that killed one man in Mendota just before midnight on Monday.
A pickup truck somehow lost control on Highway 33 at Bass Avenue and slammed head on into a big rig. The driver of the pickup was killed.
His name has not been released but investigators say the man was in his 30s and from the Mendota area.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what made him veer into the big rig.
The semi-truck was carrying tomatoes and lost some of the load on the highway. The area has since been cleaned up.
This pickup truck was smashed like a tomato due to the ferociousness of the head-on collision.
