FRESNO, California (WPVI) -- At least five people are confirmed dead after a tour bus crashed on a highway in California.
The California Highway Patrol says the tour bus was carrying about 50 people when it crashed into a highway pole at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday local time.
At least five people were killed in the crash.
Five others were airlifted to local hospitals. Four people were still trapped inside the bus.
The crash happened on northbound Highway 99 at Liberty Avenue, between Atwater and Livingston.
The bus was traveling from Southern California to Sacramento.
The northbound lanes of the road were closed following the crash.
