MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (RELEASE FROM MONROE CO. SHERIFF'S DEPT.)--

Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins reports the Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call at 11:33 P.M. of an ATV crash with injuries. The crash occurred on County Highway M, approximately 1/8th of a mile South of Highway 21 in the Township of Greenfield.

A 2004 Kawasaki ATV, operated by Vincent J. Davis of Tomah, was traveling across County Highway M and attempting to make a sharp turn on the roadway. The ATV overturned once and pinned Davis underneath.

Davis was unconscious and his friends were able to remove the ATV and render aid to him until first responders arrived on scene. Davis was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital by Tomah Area Ambulance Service for possible life threatening injuries. Davis was later transferred to Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Oakdale Area First Responders, Oakdale Fire Department, Tomah Rescue Techs, Tomah Area Ambulance Service, and the Monroe County 911 Communications Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor in the crash.
