A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon after a collision with a pickup truck in heart of Swan River.
In a bizarre coincidence, both drivers were from British Columbia.
RCMP said that a 30-year-old motorcyclist from Prince George, B.C., died later in hospital after his motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck at 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Main Street in Swan River.
Officers and emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist seriously injured. The driver of the pickup truck was located at the scene, Sgt. Bert Paquet said. The driver of the truck was a 23-year-old man from Kelowna, who was not injured.
"Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision. An RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation," Paquet said.
