Man, 42, Dies In Fiery Motorcycle Crash In Cleveland, Tennessee

Saturday, July 11, 2015
A man was killed Friday night in a motorcycle crash.

Bradley County EMS responded to a reported crash last night just before 11 p.m. involving a motorcycle on 25th Street. The accident occurred on the east bound lane near the intersection of Old 25th Street.

EMS responded with four ambulances and a shift commander. When emergency crews arrived, it appeared that the motorcycle had struck a car. The EMS commander reported that the motorcycle had exploded on impact and that it was separated into two pieces. The front of the motorcycle struck another vehicle further down the road. The driver of that car was evaluated by EMS but not transported.

The car that was initially impacted by the motorcycle was driven by an 18-year-old woman. She was the only occupant. She was transported by EMS to Sky Ridge Medical Center for evaluation.

The driver of the motorcycle was a 42-year-old man. He was also transported to Sky Ridge Medical Center by EMS. Later reports indicated that his injuries ended up being fatal.

Stan Clark, EMS spokesperson, said, “This will be the eighth roadway fatality in Cleveland and Bradley County so far this year. The only words of advice that I can give is just to try and be extra mindful when driving and try to gauge what other drivers are doing around you. Unfortunately, some of these accidents happen so fast that there is no time to react."

The accident is under investigation.
