SEFFNER, FLORIDA —
An 80-year-old Georgia woman was killed in a two-car crash Friday afternoon on U.S. 92, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported. Four others were seriously injured.
The collision occurred just after 2:30 p.m., near Kennedy Hills
Drive. Jason Mouzakes, 27, was driving a Honda Accord east on U.S. 92
when he tried to stop for traffic in front of him and swerved into
oncoming traffic, troopers said.
Mouzakes, of Bellport, New York, hit a Hyundai Accent, driven by Keriann Chambers, 37, head-on.
Chambers and another passenger were were taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries, troopers said. A second passenger, Rebertha Chambers, 80, was killed. All three are from Stockbridge, Ga.
The Honda driver, Mouzakes, and his passenger, Nicholas Hernandez, 25, of Spring Hill, were also taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
Mouzakes was ticketed for careless driving, troopers reported.
