Female passenger killed, 2 injured, in car-truck crash in Maryland after car driver failed to stop at a stop sign

FRIENDSVILLE, Md. (AP) —

Maryland State Police say a woman was killed and two men were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Garrett County.

It happened about 11:40 a.m. Thursday on Friendsville Road in Friendsville. Troopers say 50-year-old Dennis Larue of St. Louis, Missouri, was driving a Chevy Malibu when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

Police say a pickup truck driven by 78-year-old John Livengood of Swanton, Maryland, hit the passenger side of Larue's car.

Troopers say Larue and a passenger in his car, 77-year-old Frances Trupiano of Florissant, Missouri, were taken to a hospital in West Virginia, where Trupiano died.

Police say Livengood had minor injuries but refused transportation to a hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
