Two Arkansas fire fighters were caught in a backdraft explosion while containing a house fire in Texarkana.

Officials say the fire started around 10p.m. Wednesday.

When the Texarkana Fire Department arrived they found smoke coming from the attic.

As firefighters entered the house, a backdraft blew out the insulation from the house. The firefighters are safe and no one was hurt. A woman and her one-year-old were asleep inside the house when neighbors saw flames.

Officials say the mother and child escaped the home before fire crews arrived and were treated for smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say the fire is suspicious because there was no gas or electricity connected to the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
