NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Crews have been able to upright four CSX rail cars
that overturned in Berry Hill and are expected to reopen the
tracks sometime Tuesday morning.
CSX officials said the rail cars flipped around 7:30 p.m. Monday off Fessey Park Road behind Priority Nashville Construction.
Three of the derailed cars were carrying polypropylene beads used for packaging. A fourth car was carrying sheet steel.
No hazardous materials were spilled and no evacuations were ordered. No injuries have been reported.
None
of the nearby businesses were damaged, but the derailed cars knocked
out a fence. The rail cars may have also damaged vehicles belonging to
the construction company, but the tracks were not damaged.
A CSX official said the speed limit in the area where the accident happened is 10 mph.
