CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA. (WAVY)

Fire crews battled a blaze at a home on 22nd Street in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the 1300 block of 22nd Street near B Street around 1:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a house fire.

Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the two-story home and quickly brought the fire under control in just over 15 minutes, according to Captain Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was started by materials that were stored too close to a space heater, Saunders said.
