Jamestown police and fire officials responded to a vacant East Second Street building Thursday that had a portion of its roof suddenly collapse.
Police said the building, located just east of the Fenton Building, has been vacant for approximately 10 years.
Initial assessments by the police indicate the roof gave out due to poor maintenance.
Police said the entrance into East Second Street from the North Main Street intersection will be closed until the Department of Development and structural engineers determine the building's structural integrity.
No injuries were reported.
