A typical 2009 Polaris Ranger ATV

DPS says the driver of the 2009 Polaris Ranger, ATV, Stevie Ray Hergert, 16, of Nederland, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Brenda Smith. Authorities say Hergert lost control and the ATV flipped. She was ejected and suffered fatal head injuries as she was not wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
